We are one of the most established outfitters in Oregon—we’ve been guiding guests down the Rogue River since 1969. Five of our guides have a collective experience of 81 years leading river trips. More than a couple of guides were born into the raft-guiding business. That’s a tremendous amount of insight, wouldn’t you agree? We offer a variety of ways to experience the Oregon wilderness: down a river in your choice of a raft, a dory or an inflatable kayak; a multi-day hiking trip along the Wild & Scenic Rogue River with raft support or a luxurious lodge-to-lodge rafting excursion. Either choice offers hearty and delicious meals, peaceful accommodations, sublime scenery, and unforgettable companionship.

The Tatshenshini-Alsek River Expedition has long been regarded as North America's most spectacular whitewater rafting trip. Bisecting one of the most pristine wilderness areas in the world, these rivers defy the human imagination by cutting through the world's largest non-polar icefields--the seemingly impassable Alsek, St. Elias, and Fairweather Ranges. This 160-mile river makes a remarkable transition from the arid Yukon Territory to the Gulf of Alaska and offers river travelers a sublime wilderness experience.

Conveniently located just minutes from all Central Oregon resorts, the Big Eddy has been the favorite family rafting adventure since 1978.  This “short but oh so sweet” raft trip runs thru the beautiful Deschutes National Forest.  Towering ponderosa pines and quaking aspen cover the landscape as river otters playfully swim through this river wonderland.  Memories are created here! On this continuously active river trip, your guide will introduce you to the magic of McKenzie River rafting.   Nestled into the western slopes of the Cascade Mountains you will paddle through a forest of enormous fir, cedar and pine trees, which rise steeply from the water's edge.  The crisp pure water is so amazingly clear that the light seems to come up from the bottom!  The perfect trip for the “active paddler”.

The canyons charm lies in its thrilling whitewater stretches, alternated with mild riffles, placid pools, and narrow canyons edged by towering cliffs. The old growth Douglas fir forest, mixed with deciduous trees, creates a perfect river bank habitat for the abundant wildlife of the Rogue River Canyon. Otter, beaver, deer, Roosevelt elk, black bear, cougars, osprey, bald eagles, mallards, wood ducks, wild turkeys, and many others flourish in the wilderness river canyon. Oar rafts, paddle rafts, and inflatable kayaks are all available on our Wild Section Trips. The whitewater on the Wild Section is rated class III - IV in the canyon with two world famous Class IV+ rapids: Blossom Bar Rapid and Mule Creek Canyon. Duration of the trips are from two to four days and cover nearly 40 miles by river. Participants may choose to camp out under the stars, stay in historic wilderness lodges, or combine one or two nights of camping with one night of lodging.

Columbia blacktail deer, one-fifth of the Grand Slam of North American deer species, have a limited range compared to their whitetail relatives. Over most of this range, they are not uncommon in large numbers. A series of long-term patterns of ecological disturbances, primarily farming and timber harvest, have meant enhancement of favored blacktail habitat types..

In June, we offer four-day hiking trips on the historic Rogue River trail. Over 40 miles long, the trail is well maintained and parallels the length of the river. With its easy gradient and ample shade, the trail is a wonderful way to enjoy the Rogue's spectacular scenery. Our hiking trips include a knowledgeable trail guide who will hike with you, delicious lunches that are set up and waiting at predetermined locations and overnight lodging (with hearty meals, a hot shower and comfortable beds) at Black Bar, Marial, Paradise and Clay Hill Lodges. The best part of the hiking trail is that you only need to carry a daypack for your camera and water, as our rafts will carry the trip gear and food. And, if you'd like to take a break from hiking, you are welcome to ride in our rafts and enjoy some of the river's exciting whitewater. A well maintained hiking trail parallels the Rogue River for 40 miles from Grave Creek to Foster Bar. The trail affords spectacular views of the river canyon, frequent Glimpses of wildlife, and takes you to historic points of interest along the way. Many of our guests spend part of a day hiking, reuniting with our group at lunch or camp. Hiking is not difficult although some sections have moderately strenuous switchbacks to higher elevations. If you enjoy hiking, bring appropriate footwear and a small pack for water and snacks. There will be hiking opportunities on every day of your trip.
