Enjoy amazing springtime and summer catches of the beautiful football shaped Redside variety of  rainbow trout. While we fish year round for Redsides, early April brings the onset of an amazing  hatch of Salmon Flys which continues into late June. This is prime time for targeting those  famous Red Sides. The competition for space on the boat becomes fierce so book early to secure your seat on the boat. During the later summer and fall months you can target the fierce fighting, aerobatic metal heads – ocean going Steelhead Trout Enjoy gourmet riverside cooking, morning and night with a great deli style lunch when the sun is  high. Please be sure to let us know of any dietary restrictions or special meal or snack requests  ahead of time so we can tailor make your fishing adventure as enjoyable as possible.

Oregons Rogue River lodge fishing trips in the 'Wild and Scenic' Rogue River Canyon. We offer Chinook salmon fishing (King salmon) , Coho salmon fishing (Silver salmon) and steelhead fishing adventures. Our Lower Rogue River Lodge fishing trip is not just another fishing trip. It is a salmon and steelhead fishing adventure. This fishing trip is unique because it is a one way, 65 mile journey down the 'Wild and Scenic' Rogue River, a spectacular place filled with history, romance and adventures of the Old West. The scenery and wildlife are so spectacular that the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management has protected it by declaring the area 'Wild and Scenic'. That means no one will be able to build dams, homes, or roads in the area. The number of people allowed to float this 65 mile trip with us is restricted to just 12-14 participants per trip. It looks and feels the same as it did 100 years ago.

We have been professionally guiding for trophy browns and rainbows on the Owyhee River, since 2003.  Located in a high desert canyon, just 50 miles from Boise, Idaho.  We fish the Owyhee year round with the exception of Oct. & Nov. when they spawn. The vast smorgasbord of insects provide the food source for the abundant fish populationNot only are there great numbers of fish, but also great numbers of large fish.  The average size of the brown trout are 17-21 inches with a few monsters at 2 feet plus.

Fish for the Rogue's famous fighting gamefish, steelhead and Chinook salmon, from aluminum, dory-style driftboats. No soggy tennis shoes in these boats. You stay dry, so you can fish in a wider range of seasons.
The fish are migratory, and beginning in January, you can expect to see the first of the winter-run steelhead. In April, count on seeing the spring Chinook. The fall run of both steelhead and Chinook salmon begins in August. (These are approximations; fish are notoriously unpredictable, so it's best to call and check on current conditions.)

Welcome to our little secret. Over the years we’ve been a little selfish. Keeping the Williamson River’s wild 30 inch plus rainbows to ourselves. Floating the Klamath River, deemed “unfloatable,” while catching rainbows that truly average 17-19 inches, with fish pushing the 24 inch mark. Did we mention that many of the places that we fish, we see no one. Not another two legged soul. We have researched the remote, fine tuned the obvious, and discovered a destination for serious flyfisherman. Our guests continually comment that this is the best fishing they’ve ever experienced. Please take advantage of our knowledgeable guides with their excellent boatmanship skills. The staff at our full service fly shop can help you plan all your details for a successful flyfishing trip. We hope you’ll make Southern Oregon your next fly fishing adventure.

Columbia blacktail deer, one-fifth of the Grand Slam of North American deer species, have a limited range compared to their whitetail relatives. Over most of this range, they are not uncommon in large numbers. A series of long-term patterns of ecological disturbances, primarily farming and timber harvest, have meant enhancement of favored blacktail habitat types. From California to British Columbia, hunters have reaped the benefits of this abundance. .

In June, we offer four-day hiking trips on the historic Rogue River trail. Over 40 miles long, the trail is well maintained and parallels the length of the river. With its easy gradient and ample shade, the trail is a wonderful way to enjoy the Rogue's spectacular scenery. Our hiking trips include a knowledgeable trail guide who will hike with you, delicious lunches that are set up and waiting at predetermined locations and overnight lodging (with hearty meals, a hot shower and comfortable beds) at Black Bar, Marial, Paradise and Clay Hill Lodges. The best part of the hiking trail is that you only need to carry a daypack for your camera and water, as our rafts will carry the trip gear and food. And, if you'd like to take a break from hiking, you are welcome to ride in our rafts and enjoy some of the river's exciting whitewater. A well maintained hiking trail parallels the Rogue River for 40 miles from Grave Creek to Foster Bar. The trail affords spectacular views of the river canyon, frequent Glimpses of wildlife, and takes you to historic points of interest along the way. Many of our guests spend part of a day hiking, reuniting with our group at lunch or camp. Hiking is not difficult although some sections have moderately strenuous switchbacks to higher elevations. If you enjoy hiking, bring appropriate footwear and a small pack for water and snacks. There will be hiking opportunities on every day of your trip.

This is the country of the Nez Perce tribe, pioneers, trappers, explorers, and gold miners. And it is a great place to explore with one of our eight horseback riding adventures: Sourdough Special, The Chief Joseph, The Fisherman's Special, Pine Lakes Camp, The Prospector, The Mountaineer, or Springtime in Hells Canyon. Click on a link for more information. We also offer backpacker drop camps for hikers, photographers, birders, or climbers who wish to have gear and food packed into the wilderness for an extended trip. Visit Western Hiker at westernhiker.com for more backpacking options.
